If before it was a duty, now the use of a mask is an obligation. At least for the next three months, the mask will have to accompany the Portuguese everywhere. So, don't forget to opt for reusable masks and help the planet as well.
This Friday, Parliament approved a PSD bill that mandates the use of masks in public spaces.
This means that, from now on, the protective mask must not only be used in closed places such as shopping malls, supermarkets or other commercial spaces, but also on the street, in the places where everyone enjoys it. >
This measure applies to all people over ten years old and whenever it is not possible to comply with the physical distance.
However, there are some exceptions: for those who present a medical certificate or statement that attests that the clinical condition or cognitive impairment of that person does not allow the use of masks.
People who live together and who are in the same group properly away from third parties are also exempt from wearing the mask.
Another exception is when the use of a mask is not compatible with the nature of the activities practiced.
Those who do not have any of these justifications are required to wear the mask and, in case of non-compliance, a fine ranging from 100 to 500 euros can be imposed.
With this measure, the Government intends to contain the spread of contagions at a time when the number of cases has been increasing day by day.
However, and with the mandatory use of a mask, there are other issues that cannot be overlooked, such as the defense of the environment. When purchasing, remember to opt for reusable protective masks.
This will save your wallet and the planet.
The new version 2.0 of Protect Others is already being distributed worldwide. It stands out for the customization and almost total breathability of the fabric.
The mandatory use of a mask is applicable to mainland Portugal and has a duration of 70 days.
